The Paintings of
Stephen Ehret

The Water Paintings are inspired by my "landscape" on Richardson's Bay in Sausalito, where I've lived and worked for 35 years. Water reveals many faces as it moves through it's myriad moods, which I have tried to capture on canvas.

The Landscapes represent places in Marin County that have meaning for me. They are allegories of my experiences.

The Figurative Works are mythic ideas, dreams, and emotional parables.

The Collaborations are works that utilize the talents of Sonoma County artist Cynthia Franco and myself, combining our individual insights to create one vision.

All of my paintings are autobiographical. Time and the flow of thoughts and emotions over time are the essential ingredients.
